Reports to Head of Production
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Production Coordinator to support the day-to-day execution of manufacturing activities on site.
This role will work closely with our remote production scheduling function (based overseas), ensuring that the master schedule is effectively translated into daily factory activity.
The focus of the role is not long-term scheduling, but short-term coordination, execution, and maintaining flow across the factory.
• Daily Plan Execution
- Translate the master production schedule into clear daily work plans
- Ensure work orders are released, prioritised, and ready for execution
- Monitor progress against plan and flag issues early
• Work Order Coordination
- Distribute work orders to manufacturing teams via managers / chargehands
- Ensure all required information, materials, and documentation are available
- Track work through each stage of production
• Resource Coordination
- Adjust day-to-day labour allocation in response to:
*Absence
* Changing priorities
* Production constraints
- Work with managers / chargehands to rebalance workload and maintain progress
• Cross-Functional Communication
- Act as a key link between:
* Production teams
* Procurement
* Projects / Design
* Remote Planning function
- Communicate risks and issues affecting delivery
- Support resolution of material or information gaps
• Maintaining Factory Flow
- Support the smooth flow of work through the factory
- Identify and escalate:
* Blocked or stalled work orders
* Material shortages
* Bottlenecks
- Help ensure work progresses from start through to completion without interruption
• Systems & Data Accuracy
- Maintain accurate work order and planning data within ERP systems
- Ensure progress is correctly captured and updated
- Support reporting on production activity and issues
• Experience in a manufacturing / production environment
• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Confident communicator across shopfloor and office teams
• Basic understanding of:
- Work orders
- Production processes
- ERP / MRP systems (desirable)
This role is focused on:
• Executing and coordinating the plan
• Supporting daily operations on the shopfloor
• Maintaining flow and throughput
This role is not responsible for:
• Creating the master production schedule
• Long-term capacity planning
• Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 08.15 – 17.00, Fridays 08.15 – 14.00.
• £30,000 Per Annum
• Annual Leave: 22 days, plus Bank Holidays (accumulating +1 day for every 3 years of service).
