We celebrate a visit from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

Posted 25th March 2024

We were thrilled to welcome Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for a recent tour of our manufacturing facilities here at Byworth Boilers in Keighley, West Yorkshire. It was an honour to be part of the Prime Minister's campaign to showcase the government's efforts in driving economic growth and supporting businesses.

The visit provided us with a fantastic opportunity to highlight British Manufacturing at its finest. We demonstrated the intricate process of transforming flat plates of steel into complete industrial boilers ready for installation.

During his time with us, the Prime Minister engaged in discussions about how towns like Keighley benefit from long-term funding investments, allowing local communities to have a significant say in how funds are distributed.

As part of his tour, Mr. Sunak took the time to chat with our team, gaining a deeper understanding of the hard work and dedication that goes into manufacturing on a daily basis. He was particularly interested in meeting our apprentices and learning about their experiences in the workplace. It was inspiring to see his enthusiasm for creating opportunities for their success, recognising how investing in apprenticeships can bridge skills gaps and drive economic expansion.

Following his visit, the Prime Minister announced plans for 20,000 new apprenticeships, aiming to empower young talents and equip them with the skills needed to thrive in today's competitive market. This commitment to investing in the future workforce reflects the government's dedication to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and strengthening the economy. We are proud to have played a part in this important initiative and would like to thank our local MP Robbie Moore for his role in this opportunity and the continuous support he has for Byworth Boilers and Keighley town.
